Comprehensive guides to help you make the most of our platform
What is Sinkto.Link?
Sinkto.Link is a powerful link management platform that helps you create, manage, and track short links. Our platform provides analytics, team collaboration, and customization features to enhance your link management workflow.
Creating Your Account
To get started with Sinkto.Link, sign up for an account by visiting our homepage and clicking on the "Sign Up" button. You can sign up using your email address or through a supported social login provider.
Account Types
Unlimited links, unlimited team members, advanced analytics, password protection, QR codes, and UTM tracking.
Everything in Free, plus custom domains (up to 3 per team) and custom social previews for individual links.
Navigating the Dashboard
Once logged in, you'll be taken to your dashboard where you can access all the features of Sinkto.Link. The main navigation menu provides access to Links, Analytics, Teams, and Settings.
Creating Short Links
You can create short links by navigating to the Links section of your dashboard and clicking the "Create Link" button. Enter the destination URL, customize your short link, and click "Create".
Customizing Your Links
Sinkto.Link allows you to customize your short links for better recognition and branding:
- Choose a custom alias instead of using the auto-generated one
- Pick which domain the link is shown on (Pro teams with a verified custom domain)
- Set an expiration date for temporary links
- Protect the link with a password
Custom Social Preview Pro
Control the card that WhatsApp, X, Facebook, Slack, Discord, and other apps show when your short link is shared. In the Create Link or Edit Link dialog, continue to the options step and expand "Social Preview":
- Title: the headline shown on the preview card
- Description: the supporting line beneath the title
- Image URL: the preview image — leave it empty and we generate a branded card for you
Links without a custom preview keep showing the destination page's own card. Social platforms cache previews, so after changing a link that has already been shared, ask the platform to fetch it again (for example with the Facebook Sharing Debugger).
Managing Existing Links
From your dashboard, you can view, edit, and delete your existing links. Click on a link to view its details and analytics, or use the action menu to edit or delete it.
Link Organization
Keep your links organized by:
- Searching for specific links using the search bar
- Filtering links by creation date, click count, or status
- Sorting links by clicks, creation date, or alphabetically
Overview Dashboard
The Analytics section provides a comprehensive view of your link performance. The overview dashboard displays key metrics such as total clicks, unique visitors, and click-through rates.
Link Performance
For each link, you can view detailed analytics including:
- Click count over time
- Geographic distribution of clicks
- Device and browser information
- Referrer sources
Data Visualization
Our platform offers various charts and graphs to help you visualize your link performance data. These visualizations make it easy to identify trends and patterns in your link usage.
Exporting Data
You can export your analytics data for further analysis or reporting. Click the "Export" button in the Analytics section to download your data as a CSV file.
Creating a Team
To collaborate with others, you can create a team by navigating to the Teams section and clicking "Create Team". Enter a team name and optionally a description, then invite team members.
Inviting Team Members
You can invite team members by email. From the Teams page, click "Invite Member", enter the person's email address, and choose their role. Pending invitations can be tracked, resent, or revoked from the team's Invitations tab.
Team Roles and Permissions
Sinkto.Link offers different roles for team members:
- Owner: Full access to all team features, including team deletion
- Admin: Can manage team members and links, but cannot delete the team
- Member: Can create and manage links but has limited team management abilities
Team Link Management
Team links are shared among all team members according to their permission levels. All team members can view team links, while only members with appropriate permissions can create, edit, or delete links.
Custom Domains Pro
Pro teams can serve short links from their own domain (e.g. go.yourbrand.com) — up to 3 domains per team. To connect one:
- Go to the Teams page and open the "Domains" tab
- Click "Add domain" and enter your domain
- At your DNS provider, add the TXT record we show you (proves ownership) and the CNAME record (routes traffic to us) — each has its own copy button for the name and value
- Click "Verify" — DNS usually applies within 5 minutes but can take up to 48 hours
Once verified, you can pick the domain per link in the Create Link dialog. Every link keeps working on both sinkto.link and your custom domain, so nothing breaks if you switch.
Profile Management
You can update your profile information, including your name, email address, and profile picture, in the Settings section. Click on "Profile" to access and edit your personal information.
Security Settings
Manage your account security by:
- Changing your password from Account Settings
- Using the password reset flow if you've lost access
Notification Preferences
In-app notifications — team invitations and important account events — appear under the bell icon in the top bar and on the Notifications page. Accepting a team invitation from a notification adds you to the team immediately.
API Access & AI Agents
Sinkto.Link runs a remote MCP server so AI tools — Claude Code, Claude.ai, Cursor, and any other MCP client — can shorten URLs, manage your links, generate QR codes, and read click analytics on your behalf. Generate an API key under Teams → API keys, paste one line into your client, and you're connected.
Keys are scoped to a single team and to the permissions you choose, so an agent can only reach what you allowed. See the MCP setup guide for install snippets and the full tool reference.
